Géographe

Charting a new course for an iconic small-town venue.

Located in a charming weatherboard house overlooking the spectacular Hazards mountain range, Géographe is the go-to venue in Coles Bay, Tasmania – the gateway to Freycinet National Park. Its kitchen serves up crowd-pleasing dishes all day, from hearty breakfasts to famous woodfired pizzas. Coffee, wine and beer are also on the menu in a relaxed family-friendly setting.

Challenge.

With a surge in local tourism, and competition, Géographe’s new owners decided to reboot the venue. The branding needed to reference the namesake 19th century ship and highlight the venue’s point of difference – making it ‘the place to be’ in town.

Solution.

Géographe’s logo playfully blends the nautical with the culinary, and punchy blues complement the tiled woodfire oven and vistas. The iconic silhouette of the Hazards ranges anchors the layouts, a backdrop to inviting copy and imagery.

Result.

After previous successful collaborations with this Tasmanian client, they entrusted us with a completely different challenge – their debut in hospitality. A visit to Coles Bay revealed their venue’s captivating blend of location and ambience. The client was most enthused with an identity that encapsulated both the spirit of the environs and its culinary highlights, helping them put their stamp on the venue and on the town.”
