Marketing for the tourism sector demands understanding of, and sensitivity to, place. The design and messaging must capture the unique essence of the location, and communicate this spirit appropriately to the consumer.

Over nearly four decades, Bonser Design has been engaged by a wide variety of hotels, visitor centres, zoos and tourist attractions, across the Perth, regional WA, Australia and international markets. We work alongside key stakeholders to develop successful brand strategy, brand identity, graphic design, marketing, advertising and website design.

We also produce bespoke tourism publications, in collaboration with local industry – authentically encapsulating ‘place’, from Margaret River to Melbourne.

Flavours Series

A collection of three publications – Flavours of the Great SouthernFlavours of the South West and Flavours of Perth – feature some of these regions’ most popular wineries, restaurants and breweries, along with a selection of tantalising recipes and signature wines. Enticing food photography is combined with information on renowned scenic attractions, and the series has proved a popular item in souvenir shops and venue coffee tables alike.

Broome Visitor Centre

With the construction of an impressive new building, the Broome Visitor Centre required a fresh new look for their interior and exterior signage.

We worked closely with the architects in developing an original branding concept and colour palette to complement the existing logo and the building’s overall style. This was applied to the interior decorative screening, information signage and brochure displays, and to the more robust, cyclone-proof external signage.

First Impressions & Lasting Images Series

Our First Impressions & Lasting Images books – titled Perth & Beyond and Western Australia’s South Coast – capture the unique charm and beautiful scenery that make Western Australia so popular with local, national and international tourists. Driven by the simple recipe of superb photography by Richard Woldendorp and a collection of engaging quotes from an intriguing range of sources, these books are a captivating portrait of the many aspects of Perth and other ‘must-see’ Western Australian destinations. They have also become popular corporate gifts for local organisations, including Riverstone Homes and the West Coast Eagles.

Hyatt Regency Coolum

The former Hyatt Regency Coolum was the premium resort offering in Australia for the international Hyatt chain.

We were commissioned to create a special publication on this much-loved resort. Moods, Moments and Memories features the work of renowned Australian landscape photographer, Richard Woldendorp, who we engaged to create a pictorial essay capturing the essence of the unique resort environment which was Hyatt Regency Coolum. Richard’s personal reflections on Hyatt Regency Coolum are also featured in the book, which served as both a souvenir publication and part of the hotel’s marketing kit.
